Netbook reflection 2012

I Have Just Completed my - year with a netbook this is my 2012 reflection The positive side is that we got to learn shortcuts like Ctrl+c for copy and Ctrl +r is to refresh.this was a very positive tool for learning. We have also learned that we can all work in one document and share information with other people from other schools with our gmail. There are way more thing that are good about with netbooks but with great power comes with with great responsibility. This means that although we had a lot of good times there were some bad things that happened. LIKE when there were too many people on internet it would really slow down and that meant we could not finish all of our tasks.This was the biggest problem fortunately, but there was one more problem that we could live without. it was when we had the cupboard at first it was clean but throughout the year to began to get messier and messier so the wires began to stick out and someone could trip on them or worse. There were good and bad but the good thing won by miles. Throughout the year very interesting things happened like when we had books to work with it was really hard to find information and good websites to go on but when we got or netbooks finding information is so easy, and the best part in that i am 5 times faster at typing.

The future phone

This phone is the future and it only responds to your voice, this means you turn it on by saying on and then it will say password please so you say your password and it can only turn on to your voice . It can also tell the time of day and what day it is in the year. this phone tells you the balance of your diet and what you should eat next to be fit and healthy, it shows you how long you have been running and how much weight you have lost. when\ you drive and you need something from the back,you can put the phone in the middle of the wheel and say pilot and the phone will drive to your location while you find what you need or just if you want to relax. Is finding your phone a hassle? this phone is the one for you because it has a G.P.S attached to it and if someone steals it a alarm turns on and this will warn the police and tells them the exact place the thief is. When you want entertainment you say to your phone entertain and the phone will get about 20 times bigger, and then a list of not released movies and games will appear and you get to pick. when someone calls, you just need to say “answer” and a hologram shows up, so it looks like you are in the same room. When you are in your room and too tired to get up you just need to say anything and the the phone will send a message to the thing you want like the coffee machine and it will make it for you or if you want toast the same will happen.

Is it good to save energy?

You’ve heard parents say “Turn THE LIGHTS OFF” OR “cLOSE THE FRIDGE DOOR” AND YOU WONDER WHY?

Just by making some small changes to energy in your house will help you save money and help earth be a better place .Energy has been there when we’ve needed it.but If we use too much energy that is bad for our earth like Methane and Co2, a very bad  gas is released and  that is called greenhouse, sometimes when we leave something on when we are not using it you might think it is not a big deal but on the other hand you are making global warming a bigger and more dangerous thing for us. if we carry on using too much energy you are looking at massive floods and huge storms.

ENergy is important, if there was no energy how would we live? Save energy by not using too much and have a energy power plan on how to save energy. The best part of saving energy is that if you save heaps of it you will save a lot of money. We would barely survive without some energy sources but the biggest source of energy you  can find is the sun, if this big ball of fire  disappeared for some reason all of us will perish including the earth itself. So when you do something including energy have a little think about what damage it can do to our earth.

Energy is a very important to us and we use it in some good ways but using cars and other transports  that make global warming more dangerous is a very big problem, there is a easy solution to this, it is to just walk once in awhile or riding a bike,you can even help by simply changing a lightbulb to a more efficient one.
So our personal opinion is that this can help with the war against global warming.This is why you should save energy, i hope you have learnt something from this.

My Own Personal Robot

My robot is named Dragon tail and he has alot of features, he helps me when I am in trouble and shoots lazers at things that are about to heart me. He can also teleport to where ever I am when I say His name,he flies me where ever I say and he can even talk. The best thing is that he does not do some things that dogs like poop and make a mess.

Teaching Room 4 Netbook Skills.

Today my class taught room four how to use netbooks and my partner was Faamanu. He was a pro and used the netbook all by himself with no help from me. He is going to do well with his netbook next year and his test this week.

The mystical theft

Blue and red lights shone like a day in the sahara desert, waiting nervously to smash the door that led to a safe which was currently being robbed from a man with a black suit and a suitcase. Moments later the swat team arrived and all at the same time they all kicked the door down and the annamese black suited man vanished and so did the money. “Hold on” the head of the corporation shouted as all eyes turned and faced the floor watching the trail of money heading to the back door. “Lets go”15 or 20 cops creeping behind the ladder with not even one little fear of being heart but a bucket full of bravery and determination to get the money back and stop the maddness. The trail went on and on till it stopped at a ladder that lead to the top of the building, so they climbed and they caught up with the mysterious theft and it was very strange because it really looked like he was walking on mid air but as they came closer they found out that it was a thin string and the theft was trying to escape by crossing but finally lost balance and slowly fell down....... but the team saved him with a net. Although they saved his life he still got put in prison for his crimes and it turns out that he was one of the workers at the bank, so no wonder he knew exactly where to go.

This photo is from 17.10.12 when my class played a game which involved our class splitting into teams and this is my team and we sadly didn't get out in one piece but i learnt how to communicate very well with the people I meet but ara was a very helpful person in our group because he led us and told us where to go and most of all he never gave up. The little group we first have was very easy to unknot but when we played boys vs girls it was very hard and loud so we could not hear our teammates and some times we didn't know what to do. But at the end of the day we all learnt a thing or two about being a team.

NZ shake out day!!

Today was New Zealand's National Shake out day. At 9:26am there was an earthquake drill. I was at my desk, so I dropped, covered and held to stay safe. One thing we did well at T.P.S was fast movement to zoom under our desk as soon as the bell rang. One thing I want to work on next time is that I do not take my netbook down with me. Our meeting place is the out side the hall. Remember in the event  of an earthquake DROP,COVER,HOLD!!!

 This is very important, in a earth quake remember to Drop, Cover, Hold.

Observation Report.

This term we have been learning about plants , so my class split up in 5 groups and did some experiments on plants and my group was doing one on plants.

When we finally got our equipment which were two cups,one tall white flower,water and food colouring we got down to business. First we filled the two cups with water, next we added two teaspoons of red and yellow food colouring into the mixture. Then cut the long white flower in half, not the whole flower but until it is half way. After that we put the two pieces of stem into the two types of colourings. Finally wait for about 2 to 5 days and see what has changed.  

When we observed the flower on Monday, we found out that the petals have changed from white to half red and yellow and the stem was getting weaker, I mean that the stem couldn’t handle the petals in the air and it might have been dying. So we kept on staring at the plant till we said that in two weeks the plant would die.

This science project was my first so you must know what it feels like, it was pretty cool. The two key things we found out in the science project was that the pedals changed from white to red and yellow, and the stem had weaken  every single day. It was a pretty cool experience and I want to do somthing like that again.

Our class are doing projects and my group is doing one to see what happens to the flower when you put it in two food colourings and see what happens.

Energy-The Balance Of Life

The Best Holiday Ever

On the first week of the holidays I had the most amazing trip. It was filled with funny moments,hard words, tough training, delicious foods and best of all I got to spend the week with all of my closest friends. My fantastic filled week started with my team flying to the capital city of NZ, it took about approximately1 hour to get there but it was worth the wait.

When we got there it wasn't the best of weather, the waves were crashing into rocks and the wind blew like mad, but that didn't stop me from having fun. We went on a bus and let me tell you that the buses in Wellington are a mile better than Auckland's. They had nice and warm chairs and they were even colourful. They had one screen to watch TV and one to tell you where you were like a map. When we got to the hotel we watched some movies while our coach and our three adults went to get some dinner for us. I couldn't wait for them to come back with the food! I knew that they were going to buy chicken and chips with sweet and sour, yumm I thought and I licked my lips with a hungry look on my face and I think that if it looks good that it will taste even better.

When we finished our amazing dinner we went straight to sleep because  we had an early game the next day. When we woke up the sun was shining like lasers and the birds sang a soft and sweet song. It was now Thursday and it was the day of the game. It was really hard but our team worked hard and tough, blowing over and passing to the wing. Although one of our players were injured we kept going and our hard work showed at the end of the game when we won with the winning try.

It was an amazing feeling when we won, but the bad news was that we had to go home the next day, because we had finished our week of  fun. We were going to leave at 6.00am so we had a shower and watched TV until 7.00pm, then we hit the hay early. When we woke up I got dressed and off we went to the airport but I bet that everyone was sad to leave with all our fun times and laughter all left behind. As the plane flew in the air, sadness spread everywhere.

Midnights revenge

In a galaxy far far away a world was in danger. Crime and destruction awaits around every corner. But professor Johnson discovered a special potion to transform anyone into a powerful strong hero that had powers like speed,strength and flight.

One day the professor drove home from his lab. There was a traffic jam so it took him a long time to get home. When he finally got there he saw that the door had been smashed open and glass was all over the floor. He quickly ran in and was horrified to find his wife on the ground in the living room with a knife in her body. The professor saw a note on her, It said “Good day professor my name is Mr . I know you have found this note and the little surprise I have left you. Go to the abandoned warehouse on Hanson Road near the city tonight at 10pm. Don’t be late. If you don’t show up this will happen to everyone close to you!” Professor Johnson was filled with rage and he had nothing on his mind but revenge!
So he drank all of the potion and the transformation began.

His whole body changed. He grew to twice his normal size, with rippling muscles and all his clothes ripped because he was too big. So he made a red costume with a green cape and he had a dark green mask that covered only his eyes.

He flew to the warehouse. When he got there Mr was waiting.  A voice spoke out of the darkness. “Professor Johnson you're finally here.” “There is no more Professor Johnson. You destroyed him when you killed my wife. My name is Midnight. I have come to make you suffer for what you’ve done.” Then, Mr stepped out of the shadows. The moonlight shone on his face and Midnight recognised him immediately. They were finally face to face. “You!” shouted Midnight. “Yes, me.” Mr responded. “Two years ago we both developed the invisibility vaccination for the army. You  took all of the credit, all of the fame and all of the money. Then you fired me!” Then he said quietly,  “So I took your wife and now I’m going to finish you.”

Mr lifted his hand to his mouth and drank something out of a small tube. He started to float, then his body glowed light green and turned to rock. They ran towards each other and Mr tried to throw a pack of punches at Midnight but he dodged them all. Then Midnight fought back.
The fight took a long time. Sweat poured down both men's faces. Their fists hit each other with immense power. Midnights blood flooded the ground and huge bruises were visible every time he took a punch. But because Midnight had drank all of the potion all of his cuts and bruises healed faster than normal.

Finally Midnight flew towards Mr, picked him up off the ground, lifted him over his head and flew high into the clouds. Then he flew straight back towards the ground, getting faster and faster. As he got closer to the ground Midnight thought about what Mr had done, and he got angrier and angrier.  Just before they reached the warehouse roof, Midnight threw Mr with all of his rage. Mr crashed through the roof and hit the ground so hard that he shattered into hundreds of pieces. Midnight stood over the tiny pieces of glowing rock. Victorious.

Because he had drunk so much potion he is now Midnight permanently. So he decided to look over, not just his planet, but the whole galaxy to keep people safe. If you look into the sky at night, you might sometimes see a red flash race across the sky. It might be a shooting star, or it might be Midnight looking over us.

The amazing landing.

The crowd shouted Sake! Sake! as he flew down the huge, black ramp with confidence in his eyes. He flew across the sky like a free bird, as the crowd watched with amazement inside the amazing stadium in this homeland Auckland. Then he flicked the bike up side down and with no hands hang from the bike with only his legs and his hand spread wide open. Then when he was coming down something happened.

Sake’s pants got trapped in the chain and the bike went out of control. But Sake used his knowledge from past incidents to control the bike and making sure to not crash.  When he reached the ground there was a moment of silence in the stadium then when the smoke and dust disappeared everyone could see he landed the bike safely.

The crowd went wild in excitement!  Sake had a cut on his leg from the accident in the air but it was worth it.

A man from the V-Plus energy drink company came out of the crowd and said to Sake, “You are a good rider with a crazy attitude and we need you to promote our drink company.” Of course Sake said yes. Then months later Sake was onto bigger things and he won gold at the 2012 X-Games.
